The victim in this fire has been identified as Katherine Ann Callen, 63, of no fixed address. The manner of death is accidental.
Original release:
A woman died yesterday of injuries suffered in a Middle River townhouse fire.
Fire units were dispatched at 5:27 a.m. to the 2100 block of Cockspur Rd., 21220, for a report of a house fire with people trapped. Crews found heavy fire from the second floor windows in the front and back of the house.
One male occupant was able to escape through a second-story bedroom window; he was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
Firefighters found the victim, who has not yet been identified due to the extent of the injuries, in a different second-floor bedroom.
Twenty-six pieces of equipment responded to this fire. The cause is undetermined.
