Sewer Relining Project in Carney, Perry Hall and Towson

The Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPWT) started an extensive sewer relining project (including manholes) in Carney, Perry Hall and Towson in May (the Gunpowder Project). It’s 52 percent complete; more than 45,000 feet of eight-inch diameter pipe out of 67,000 feet has been lined. More than 12 miles of sanitary sewer pipe will be relined during the next year. The project will cost about $5.8 million. Most of the work will be below ground with minimal impact to communities. However, with any project of this scale, there may be some traffic or parking issues, and occasional chemical odors. DPWT staff will issue periodic updates.

Information: Email engineering@baltimorecountymd.gov.

Sewer Pumping Station in Cockeysville

Baltimore County is modernizing the Cockeysville Pumping Station. Work began in April 2020 and modifications took more than a year to finish. The improvements cost $5,215,000. The project is 98 percent complete.
