Over the summer months, Department of Planning staff will be meeting with communities to inform them about the plan and ask for input about how they see their community, and the County, growing in the next 10 years. Essex Farmers’ Market
Join the Eastern Baltimore County Task Force and Baltimore County at the new Farmers' Market in the heart of Essex on Fridays through October 15, from 3 to 6 p.m., in the parking lot behind 501-515 Eastern Boulevard, Essex, Maryland 21221. Purchase locally grown and produced products, and improve our local economy by supporting our farmers and other local vendors.

Water Line Extension at Glencliffe Circle and Old Court Road
Baltimore County contractors are extending water service to 12 houses on Glencliffe Circle and Old Court Road. The new line, which will cost about $400,000, will run 1,783 feet. Work began in April and is about 85 percent complete.

Pedestrian Study for Pikesville
Baltimore County has hired a consultant to perform a desk audit in Pikesville to assess pedestrian conditions and to learn if improvements can and should be made to enhance traffic engineering design for walkers, bicyclists and drivers. The consultant will be reviewing accident histories and the examination will include all facets of traffic control, including signals and crosswalks, taking note of bicycle and pedestrian movements as well. One of the goals of the study, say engineers, is to create a context in which to safely coordinate crosswalks with present and future traffic conditions. The project is temporarily on hold, say engineers, until traffic patterns return to normal and schools reopen completely. The consultant plans to begin data collection in September and a report is expected in November.
Water Line on Falls Road
The Department of Public Works and Transportation plans to replace 11,000 feet of water line on Falls Road between the Beltway and the City line. The project will cost approximately $14 million and is scheduled to begin in the fall. The replacement of the line—sections of which are more than 90 years old—will improve the reliability of the system. Much of the construction will be done between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., and ingress and egress will be coordinated with and provided for all property owners.

Water in the Dumbarton Neighborhood, Pikesville
Baltimore County is relining and cleaning more than 16,000 feet of water line under 27 streets in Dumbarton. The project, managed in two phases, is about 85 percent complete and will cost $4.2 million. Work is expected to be completed in the fall.
