Olszewski Issues Statement following Bipartisan Passage of Legislation To Support Baltimore County Workers

November 2, 2020

Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski today issued the following statement following the bipartisan passage of prevailing wage and local hiring legislation to support Baltimore County’s workforce and ensure workers hired for County-funded capital improvement projects receive competitive and fair wages:

"Tonight’s vote is another bipartisan step to strengthen families, increase local jobs, and support our ongoing economic recovery by paying the men and women who build our roads, our schools and our infrastructure what they deserve. I thank the County Council for joining me in leveling the playing field for workers and ensuring that Baltimore County projects are built by Baltimore County residents.”
