County Executive Olszewski Announces Free Flu Vaccinations on October 16 and 17

October 5, 2021

Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski and Health Officer Dr. Gregory Wm. Branch today announced the County’s plan to host the annual Super Weekend Flu Clinics. The free two-day clinics will take place on October 16 and 17 in seven locations throughout the County.

To ensure proper social distancing, attendees must schedule an appointment for the site of their choice by going online at www.baltimorecountymd.gov/flu or by calling the Department of Health at 410-887-3816.

“As we continue combatting the COVID-19 pandemic, it is more important than ever to protect ourselves and our loved ones from the dangers of the seasonal flu,” Olszewski said. “We hope all our residents will take advantage of this free, convenient, and accessible way to help prevent getting sick this flu season.”

“The COVID-19 pandemic is a game changer for all of us,” said Dr. Gregory Wm. Branch, Director of the Baltimore County Department of Health and Human Services and the County’s Health Officer. “People who do not traditionally get a flu vaccine must make sure to get vaccinated this season. This is especially true for African-Americans who often shy away from getting flu vaccinations, and have been disproportionately affected by the coronavirus. All of us must do everything we can to lower the risk of a possible 'twindemic' resulting from continued surges in COVID-19 cases and a simultaneous, rough flu season.”

Appointments are required in order to get your free vaccination at the Super Weekend clinics and can be scheduled by visiting www.baltimorecountymd.gov/flu or calling 410-887-3816.

On October 16, clinics will be held at Drumcastle Government Center, Sollers Point Multi-Purpose Center, Hereford Middle School and Randallstown Community Center.

On October 17, clinics will be held at Drumcastle Government Center, Lansdowne Middle School, Middle River Middle School and Pikesville Middle School. Appointments are available from 9 a.m. to noon each day.
