July 14, 2022 Baltimore County

Following the storms that passed through Baltimore County on the evening of Tuesday, July 12, thousands of residents in Northern Baltimore County remain without power. BGE has brought in additional resources and has assured County leaders that they are working to address these outages as quickly as possible.

In order to assist residents experiencing power outages in the area, the County will open the Jacksonville Senior Center at 3605B Sweet Air Road, Phoenix, Maryland, to serve as a cooling center, provide an opportunity to charge devices and access WiFi from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. In addition, residents can go to any County library branch for the same amenities; libraries are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and closed on Sunday.

The Red Cross will provide water and BGE team members will be on hand to answer questions and provide updates at the Jacksonville Senior Center and Baltimore County Public Library’s Cockeysville and Hereford Branches on Friday and Saturday.

Residents should report power outages to BGE at bge.com, on the BGE Mobile App, via text message to MyBGE (69243), or by calling customer service at 877.778.2222. For up to date information about outages, visit BGE’s website: https://www.bge.com/Outages/CheckOutageStatus/Pages/OutageMap.aspx

Residents should assume that any downed wires are energized at lethal voltages, and should not touch them or go near them.  Call BGE at 1-877-778-2222 to report fallen electrical lines, power outages and gas odors.

Residents requiring additional services or assistance should call 311 to access County services.
