Baltimore County Police are investigating a shooting in the 300 block of Pleasant Ridge Drive, 21117, that left one man injured as an attempted robbery.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the 21-year-old victim arrived home around 10:50 p.m. Sunday night and walked to his apartment door. When he reached his door he realized there was a suspect directly behind him holding a handgun. The victim turned and fought with the suspect. During the struggle the firearm discharged and the victim was struck in an upper extremity. The unidentified suspect fled the scene. Police and medics were called to the scene and the victim was transported to an area hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine a motive for this incident but preliminarily believe this was an attempted robbery.
