Baltimore County Police is releasing the booking photo of a suspect arrested in Towson early Saturday morning after sexually assaulting a woman in the hopes that other possible victims may come forward.

Booking photo of Jarvis Levy BensonJarvis Levy Benson (32) was arrested by responding officers just after 2 a.m. when he was identified as the suspect who followed a woman into an alley as she was walking to her car, grabbed her, and raped her. Benson remains held without bond following a bail review hearing this afternoon.

Police hope that anyone who may recognize Benson as a suspect in any other incident, or who has information on his involvement with any other incident, will contact detectives in the Special Victims Unit by calling 410-307-2020. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward when submitting tips through Metro Crime Stoppers.

Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland, an organization that is separate from the Baltimore County Police Department and Baltimore County Government, offers rewards of up to $2,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges in connection with felony offenses.

Police Arrest Suspect after Rape of Woman in Towson

Detectives made a quick arrest of a suspect in an early morning rape of a woman in Towson today.

Just after 2 a.m. Saturday morning police responded to the unit block of West Pennsylvania Avenue, 21204 for a call of an assault.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect followed a woman down an alley near Pennsylvania Avenue as she walked to her vehicle, then sexually assaulted her behind an area business. The victim was able to break free from her attacker following the assault and ran back to the establishment she'd left to summons help. Responding officers located the suspect on West Pennsylvania Avenue and placed him under arrest after a positive identification.

Jarvis Levy Benson (32) of the 9500 block of John Lock Way, 21117 is charged with second degree rape, fourth-degree sex offense and second degree assault. He is currently held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on no bail status pending a bail review hearing.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Special Victims Unit are continuing the investigation into this incident.
