UPDATE (February 20, 2020 3:11 p.m.):

The man injured in a stabbing on Bennett Road in Essex last Friday, February 14, has died.

Margarito Miron (42) of the 7400 block of Berkshire Road, 21222 died on Tuesday, February 18.

Booking phot of Vidal Trinidad-HernandezThe suspect, identified as Vidal Trinidad-Hernandez (61), of the 100 block of Bennett Road, 21221 was charged with attempted first degree murder and first degree assault after being released from the hospital on Tuesday, February 18. The case will now be reviewed by the Baltimore County State's Attorney's Office for additional charges. He remains held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on no bail status following a bail review hearing yesterday.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the motive behind this incident.

Original Release (February 15, 2020 11:31 a.m.):

County Police Investigating Serious Stabbing in Essex

Just after 11:30 p.m. on February 14, 2020, Baltimore County Police responded to the 100-block of Bennett Road, 21221, for a stabbing. Officers arrived and located an adult male victim in front of the location suffering from an apparent stab wound to the upper body. The victim was transported to a local hospital, his condition is currently unknown. 

As the investigation progressed, the suspect was taken into custody at the scene. He was also transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. More information will be released once the suspect is formally charged. This investigation is being handled by the detectives from the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit. 

Just before 1:30 a.m. on June 22, 2019, Baltimore County Police responded to the 900-block of Ashbridge Drive, 21221 for a shooting. Police arrived and located the victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim told police that he was exercising around the neighborhood when he was approached by a suspect who threatened him with a gun and told him to get on the ground. The victim refused and walked away from the suspect. The suspect then shot the victim and ran away.

The victim, a 32-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to survive his injuries. The Violent Crimes Unit is investigating this case. If anyone has information, please call Baltimore County Police at 410-307-2020.

UPDATE (January 11, 2016 9:44 a.m.):

Baltimore County Police have charged a suspect in connection with this case.

Deshawn Kenyetta Bell (19) of the 2900 block of Lakebrook Circle 21227 has been charged with attempted first degree murder and related charges. He is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

This incident remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit.

UPDATE (January 4, 2016  1:15 p.m.):

Baltimore County Police are continuing to investigate a December 31 shooting in Halethorpe that left a man injured.
 
The investigation has indicated that at 7:37 p.m., the victim was approached by the suspect who fired a handgun at him multiple times. The victim then ran to a nearby home and asked the residents to call police.
 
The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
 
This incident remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit. Detectives believe that the victim was targeted.

Original release (December 31, 2015  10:56 p.m.):

At 7:37 p.m., Baltimore County Police responded to the 400 block of 4th Avenue 21227 for a shooting. When officers arrived on the scene, they located an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

This incident is under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit. Detectives will be working to determine if this was a targeted crime.
