Baltimore County Police arrested Gregory Hightower (67) of the 1600 block of Poplar Grove St., 21216 for sexually assaulting a teenager in Lochearn on June 27.

The investigation determined that at 11:30 p.m. the victim exited the MTA bus in the 1900 block of Woodlawn Dr. Hightower also exited the bus and followed the victim, offering to walk her through the wooded area which is a cut through to Kincheloe Ave.

As they approached the wooded area, Hightower pulled a gun and pointed it at the victim. He then forced the victim on the ground and sexually assaulted her. Hightower threatened to kill the victim before fleeing the scene. 

Investigators received multiple tips from the public that led investigators to identifying Hightower. He is charged with first degree rape, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and firearm use/felony-violent crime. He is held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on a no bail status pending a bail hearing review.

Police Seek Public's Help Identifying Man Who Sexually Assaulted a Teenager in Lochearn

Baltimore County Police seek the public’s help with identifying the suspect responsible for sexually assaulting a teenager in Lochearn on June 27.

Just before midnight, police responded to the 6700 block of Kincheloe Ave., 21207 for a call of a sexual assault. The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect and victim were passengers on the same MTA bus.

At 11:30 p.m. on June 27, the victim exited the MTA bus in the 1900 block of Woodlawn Drive near the Woodlawn Memorial Park. The victim advised that she saw the suspect also exit the bus and he began following her. The suspect offered to walk her through the wooded area which is a cut through to Kincheloe Ave.

As they approached the wooded area, the suspect forced the victim on the ground and then sexually assaulted her. The suspect threatened to kill the victim before fleeing the scene. The victim ran to Kincheloe Ave. where she was seen banging on the door of her friend’s house. A neighbor heard the banging and saw the victim disheveled and upset. She assisted the victim and called 911.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 50 - 60-years-old, 5'9 and 200-pounds (pictured here). The suspect mentioned to the victim that he lives not far from the Woodlawn Cemetery and Chapel.

The suspect is believed to have been on MTA buses at the following locations:

-Rogers Station (metro) in the 4300 block of Hayward Avenue, 21215 on June 28 between 10:40 p.m. and 11 p.m.

-Woodlawn Cemetery and Chapel in the 2100 block of Woodlawn Drive, 21207 on June 28 between 11:20 p.m. and 11:40 p.m.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Departments Special Victims Unit are investigating this incident. Anyone who may have additional information on this incident is asked to contact detectives by calling 410-307-2020. Callers may remain anonymous.

UPDATE (January 19, 2017  1:45 p.m.):

Baltimore County Police Homicide detectives have charged a suspect in connection with the fatal stabbing of a teenager on Twin Lakes Court last night.

Markel Justin Dates (17), of the unit block of Tentmill Lane in Pikesville, has been charged as an adult with first-degree murder and is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

Just after 7:30 p.m. last night police were called to the area of Twin Lakes Court and Church Lane in Precinct 4 for an unconscious subject lying in the roadway. When police found the victim, 15-year-old Moses Ayele Lorenso of the 4100 block of Hanwell Road in Randallstown, they discovered at least one stab wound to the upper body and began administering first aid. He was transported to Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say Lorenso and Dates had been involved in an ongoing dispute when they happened upon each other while walking on Twin Lakes Court. They became involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical encounter, ending when Dates pulled out a knife and stabbed Lorenso, then fled the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit.

Original release (January 19, 2017  6:46 a.m.):

A teenager died last night after he was stabbed during an altercation with a suspect known to him.

Moses Ayele Lorenso, age 15, was stabbed at least once in the upper body after a verbal altercation with the suspect escalated into a physical fight.

Police were called to the intersection of Twin Lakes Court and Church Lane in Milford Mill around 7:36 p.m. last night for an unconscious overdose call, where they found the victim lying in the street with a stab wound. He was transported to Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Baltimore County Police Homicide detectives continue to investigate this crime.
