Baltimore County Police are investigating another fatal crash today, this one involving a pedestrian on DeRisio Lane in the Pikesville Precinct.

Crash Investigators responded to DeRisio Lane and Sudbrook Lane around 2:51 p.m. when a pedestrian attempted to cross DeRisio Lane at  Sudbrook Lane and was struck by the side mirror of a 2009 Lincoln Town Car traveling through the intersection southbound on DeRisio Lane, and was forcefully knocked to the ground. The Lincoln had stopped at the stop sign at the intersection, then began to continue through the intersection when the pedestrian began to cross the intersection.

The pedestrian, identified as Leonid Isaakovich Marder (83) of the 3600 block of Fords Lane, 21215, was transported to Sinai Hospital by BCoFD Medic 2 with potentially life threatening injuries and died just before 4 p.m. 

The driver of the Lincoln was not injured and remained at the scene of the crash.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team is continuing their investigation into this fatal crash this evening.

UPDATE (June 12 11:01 a.m.):

The pedestrian struck by a train in Pikesville on Thursday has been identified as 21-year-old Brooke Chelsea Cox of the 3200 block of Roscommon Drive 21737. She is in critical condition at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. The reason why she was on the train tracks is unknown.

Original release (June 12 7:30 a.m.):

A pedestrian was hit by a train in Pikesville Thursday evening.

At 7:45 p.m., Baltimore County Police and Fire personnel responded to train tracks near the intersection of Sudbrook Lane and Greenwood Road for a pedestrian that had been struck by a train. When officers arrived on the scene, they found an injured 21-year-old female who was conscious and breathing.

The initial investigation into this incident has indicated that the female had been standing on the tracks when she was hit by a CSX train.

The female was taken to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for treatment. Her current condition is unknown.
