Police are investigating a shooting in Lansdowne after a woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound responded to an area hospital yesterday evening.

Officers were initially called to the area of Smith Avenue and Bryant Avenue, 21227 at 6:35 p.m yesterday for a call of shots fired. Officers did locate evidence of a shooting but no victim at the scene. Detectives were notified of a walk-in victim of a gunshot wound at an area hospital a short time later and were able to confirm that the victim, a 27-year-old woman, was shot at Smith and Bryant Avenue. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unconfirmed and under investigation.

The Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate this incident and asks anyone who may have information on this shooting to contact detectives by calling 410-307-2020. Callers may remain anonymous.

Original release (June 23, 2016  3:15 p.m.):

At 2:20 p.m. yesterday, Baltimore County Police responded to an M&T Bank in the 2800 block of Smith Avenue 21209 for a bank robbery.

The investigation into this incident has indicated that the suspect entered the bank and presented a note to the teller demanding money. The suspect fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Officers were able to develop information on the suspect and a vehicle he had gotten into. That vehicle was located in Baltimore City and the suspect was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.

The suspect has been identified as 52-year-old Steven Gregory Passero of the 12100 block of Dunliegh Court in Dunkirk. Passero has been charged with armed robbery and is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

This incident remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Robbery Unit working with the FBI Baltimore Violent Crimes Task Force.
