All this week, July 22 through July 26, the Baltimore County Police Department will be on the roads and highways watching out for drivers who are being aggressive behind the wheel.

What is considered aggressive driving? Here are some examples:

  • Frequent or unsafe lane changes,
  • failing to signal or yield right of way,
  • tailgating, and disregarding traffic signals.

Road rage is the ultimate in aggressive driving. Driving fast and recklessly to pay back a driver who may have slighted him or her by passing or cutting the driver off can and does cause crashes and fatalities.

Officers will be aggressively searching out the driver who is putting others at risk by their actions. They could be ticketed or arrested. When the officer stops you, he or she will also check for outstanding warrants and other infractions.

Drive safe, stay cool, and enjoy the rest of the summer.
