Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit detectives are investigating an incident on Bexhill Road near Turgot Lane that left one man injured.

Police were dispatched to Northwest Hospital around 2:55 a.m. for a patient with a possible gunshot wound. Medical staff have determined that the injury the 36-year-old victim sustained is actually a laceration or possibly a stab wound. He is expected to recover.

The victim indicated that he was walking with friends on Bexhill Road when they were approached by a vehicle. At least three suspects exited the vehicle and began a physical altercation with the group, during which shots were heard being fired. The victim fled and was later transported to the hospital for what he thought was a gunshot wound.

Anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual in the area at that time is asked to contact Baltimore County Police by calling 410-307-2020. Callers may remain anonymous.

Baltimore County Police are investigating a shooting after the victim responded to Northwest Hospital early this morning.

Police were called around 1:26 a.m. when the victim, a 23-year-old man, responded to Northwest Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper body. He was treated and released.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit are currently investigating to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Baltimore County Fire and Police departments will participate tomorrow in a disaster training exercise organized by Northwest Hospital. The drill will take place at 5401 Old Court Road from 8 a.m. to noon.

There will be a visible Fire, EMS and Police presence as a result of this exercise. This is a drill; area residents should not be alarmed.

The training scenario involves a fictitious 8,000-gallon fuel spill at a Randallstown gas station. The spill is the result of a collision between a bus and a gasoline tanker.

Public safety agencies and hospitals in Baltimore County and across the region train regularly for all manner of disasters.
