Baltimore County Police investigated two separate fatal crashes involving motorcycles last night.

The first crash occurred on the west side of the county around 6:12 p.m. when a motorcycle traveling south on Black Rock Road north of Falls Road lost control in a curve in the roadway and collided with a guardrail support pole. Baltimore County EMS responded and pronounced the rider deceased at the scene. He is identified as Kevin Dwayne Petty (48) of the 1300 block of Hillcrest Street, 21074.

The second crash occurred on the east side of the county just after 7 p.m. when a Volkswagen Jetta attempted to make a left turn onto Allender Road from Philadelphia Road in front of an oncoming motorcycle which struck the front passenger side of the Jetta. The adult male operator of the motorcycle suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital. A female passenger of the motorcycle, identified as Ashley Lynn Simpson (27) of the 7900 block of 35th Street, 21218, suffered critical injuries and was transported to MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center where she was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the Jetta was uninjured and remained at the scene.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team continues to investigate the factors involved in both of these fatal crashes.

The motorcyclist involved in a crash on Reisterstown Road this morning has died.

Police and medics were dispatched to the area of Reisterstown Road and Caraway Road at 7:12 a.m. after the motorcyclist collided with a Chevrolet Impala. The preliminary investigation indicates the Impala was traveling northbound on Reisterstown Road when it attempted to turn left into a business in front of the southbound motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist, identified as Jacob Ryan Parks (21) of the 4700 block of Deer Park Road, 21117, was transported to Northwest Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Impala remained at the scene and was not injured.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team is continuing the investigation into this fatal crash.

The operator of a motorcycle involved in a crash in Essex tonight has died.

The motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Route 702 around 5:13 p.m. when it struck the passenger side rear quarter panel of a 2013 Nissan Maxima making a left turn onto East Homberg Avenue from northbound Route 702.

The operator of the motorcycle was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene by medics. He is identified as Michael Johnson (49) of the 1000 block of Foxcroft Lane, 21221.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team is continuing their crash reconstruction efforts to determine the factors involved in this fatal crash.
