Police arrested a suspect in the afternoon home-invasion robbery and stabbing of a man in Middle River yesterday.

The suspect knocked on the door of a home in the unit block of Oakgrove Drive, 21220 shortly after 1 p.m. When a female resident answered the door he displayed a handgun and a knife, entered, and demanded cash and personal items. The suspect struck the woman with the gun and forced her into a closet, then stabbed a male victim and fled the location on foot. The suspect later threatened his girlfriend with the gun.

Detectives learned that the suspect frequented the area and were able to locate him and take him into custody shortly after 5 a.m. this morning. The suspect is identified as Reginald Louis Barber Jr (29) of the unit block of Oakroad Drive, 21220. He is held on denied bail status at the Baltimore County Detention Center, charged with attempted first degree murder, three counts each of first and second degree assault, and two counts of misdemeanor theft.

UPDATE (December 23, 2019 9:39 a.m.):

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit have charged a man in the stabbing death of another at Excape Nightclub early Saturday morning.

Booking photo of Joshua David EdwardsJoshua David Edwards (28) of the 200 block of Kershaw Court, 21085 is charged with first degree murder and held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center pending a bail review hearing scheduled for today.

Detectives determined that Edwards initially engaged in a verbal altercation with the victim, identified as David Bryan Collins Jr (32) of the 100 block of Breakwater Court, 21085. The argument escalated into a physical fight during which Edwards produced a knife and stabbed the victim, who later died of  his injuries.

This is yet another example of the dedication of our officers and detectives working together to ensure a safer Baltimore County.

Original Release (December 21, 2019 11:34 a.m.):

One man is dead after a fight led to a stabbing outside a Middle River nightclub early this morning.

Police were dispatched to Excape Nightclub in the 10000 block of Pulaski Highway at 12:15 a.m. for a call of a stabbing. The victim, an adult man, was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center where he later died. The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing and are asking anyone who may have information to contact them by calling 410-307-2020. Callers may remain anonymous.
