Wanted homicide suspect, Tavon PowellTavon Powell, wanted for the homicides of Gabrielle Paugh and Aaron Wearins in Dundalk on August 27, was located and apprehended in Kenner, Louisiana this morning by the United States Marshals Service.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit contacted the U.S. Marshals Service after their investigation lead them to believe that Powell had fled the state of Maryland. The U.S. Marshals Service developed information that Powell was staying at a location in Kenner, Louisiana, just outside of New Orleans. They confirmed Powell's location this morning and took him into custody.

The Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit will send detectives to Louisiana to further the investigation into the homicides and establish information regarding Powell's flight to that area.

On August 29, 2018, Aaron Wearins succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Baltimore County Police continue to search for the suspect, Tavon Powell.

Baltimore County Police have identified the suspect responsible for the double shooting in Dundalk. Tavon Powell (37) is wanted for murder and attempted murder. If anyone has information about Tavon Powell, please call the Baltimore County Police at 410-307-2020.

Police Investigating Double Shooting in Dundalk

At 7:30 p.m. on August 27, 2018, Baltimore County Police were called to the unit-block of Wise Avenue, 21222 for a shooting. Officers arrived and found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The female victim, identified as Gabrielle Marie Paugh, 26, of the unit-block of Wise Avenue, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The male victim, Aaron Michael Wearins, 34, of the 3000-block of Mcelderry Street, 21205 is listed in critical condition.

Baltimore County Police homicide detectives are actively pursuing leads and believe that both victims were targeted in this case. If anyone has information about this shooting, please call Baltimore County Police at (410) 307-2020.
