UPDATE (September 14, 2017 2:59 p.m.):

Police have charged Omar Mydie Hamilton (18) of the unit block of Deepspring Court in Reisterstown, 21136 with the shooting death of Larry Lynch on February 4, 2017.

Police believe that Hamilton and another still unidentified suspect shot and killed Mr. Lynch during an attempted home-invasion robbery. Mr. Lynch defended himself, shooting Hamilton, but the other suspect fled the scene and was not apprehended.

Hamilton is charged with 1st Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony and is held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.



Original Release (February 5, 2017 2:21 p.m.):

On February 4th just before 9:30 p.m., Baltimore County Police received a call for a shooting in the 2900-block of Lakebrook Circle, 21227. When officers arrived they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds, inside an apartment. One the victims inside the apartment, Larry Lynch, Jr., 28, of the 2900-block of Lakebrook Circle, 21227, was pronounced deceased by Baltimore County Fire Department personnel. The second victim, Omar Hamilton, 17, of the 2900-block of Lakebrook Circle, 21227, was transported to a local hospital and is listed in serious condition.

Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to this crime. If anyone has information about this double shooting, please call Baltimore County Police at (410) 307-2020.
