Have you ever wondered what is involved in police work? If so, it's not too late to sign up for the Baltimore County Police Department's 39th Citizens’ Academy.

Participants will partake in simulated police scenarios at the Pistol Range; take a tour of the Circuit Court Building and 911 Center; see up close demonstrations of the K-9 Unit, Marine Team, and Aviation Team at Martin State Airport; and learn about arrest procedures for various scenarios at the Training Academy in Dundalk. Other classes include  the art of composite sketches that help crack crimes, violent crimes investigations, patrol operations, and demonstrations by the Bomb Squad.

The program will run on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. from March 4 through June 10; there will also be one Saturday class from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All but four classes will be held at the Public Safety Building, 700 East Joppa Road in Towson.
