Police arrested a man for fleeing and eluding this afternoon after the Budget Rental truck he was driving ran out of gas on the inner loop of I-695 near Providence Road.

The incident caused I-695 to be closed in both directions for a short period of time while officer investigated the situation regarding the rental truck, using an abundance of caution considering yesterday's events involving vans found in both Baltimore County and Baltimore City containing large amounts of diesel fuel.

The incident began when an officer attempted to make a traffic stop on the truck driving recklessly southbound on I-83 in the Cockeysville Precinct. The truck failed to stop and continued onto eastbound I-695 where it ran out of gas just before Providence Road. The driver was immediately taken into custody, but the officer noticed suspicious damage to the rental truck that caused concern based on yesterday's events. As a precaution, I-695 was closed while K-9 and the Hazardous Devices Team responded to aid in the investigation. Ultimately, nothing dangerous was found inside the truck and the damage was determined to have been caused by a prior collision.

A man was taken for an emergency psychological evaluation after disrupting an event at Martin's West this morning, threatening suicide.

Police were called to Martin's West in the 6800 block of Dogwood Road in Windsor Mill, 21244, at 9:57 a.m. after the man (33) took the stage with a Nerf toy gun and threatened suicide. He had also placed 4 small bags under tables at the event. The man was taken into custody without incident and transported to an area hospital for an evaluation.

As a precaution, Martin's West was evacuated while the Baltimore County Hazardous Devices Team and Explosive Detection K9 Team deployed and rendered the scene safe. The bags were found to contain clothing and cash. Martin's West has since reopened and is continuing with all scheduled events.
