Booking photo of Karon Dajon HarvellPolice have arrested Karon Dajon Harvell (26) in the shooting of a man on Hazelwood Avenue Saturday night.

Harvell is charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, First and Second Degree Assault, Armed Robbery and Robbery and remains held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center following a bail review hearing yesterday.

Original Release (July 7, 2019 12:06 p.m.):

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit are continuing their investigation into a shooting in Overlea this morning.

Officers responded to the 4800 block of Hazelwood Avenue just before midnight for a shooting after a 27-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the lower body during an attempted street robbery. The victim fought back and the suspects fled the scene.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and is expected to survive his wounds.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives by calling 410-307-2020. Callers may also be eligible for a reward when submitting tips through Metro Crime Stoppers. Callers may remain anonymous.

UPDATE (July 8, 2019 4:15 p.m.):

Booking photo of Jonathan Hickey.Police have identified the deceased victim of a shooting on North Point Road, 21219 early yesterday morning as 26-year-old Brandon Austin Boemmel of the 6700 block of North Point Road.

Jonathan Clay Hickey (28) of the 7500 block of North Point Road, 21219 has been charged with first and second degree murder and remains held without bond following a bail review hearing today.

Original Release (July 7, 2019 12:05 p.m.):

One man has died, another arrested, following a disturbance that escalated into a fatal shooting in Edgemere early this morning.

The victim, a 26-year-old man not yet identified, died at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center around 4:30 this morning while he was being treated for at least one gunshot wound to the upper body.

Officers responded to the 7500 block of North Point Road for the shooting just after 2 a.m. Medics responded to the scene and began treating the victim immediately, who was in critical condition while being transported to the hospital.

The suspect involved in the shooting remained at the scene and was taken to police headquarters for questioning. The Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit is continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding this fatal shooting.

A man suffered a gunshot wound in the 11000 block of Reisterstown Road in Reisterstown this evening. 

Shortly before 7 p.m. officers were dispatched to the location in reference to a shooting. On arrival they located an adult male victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to survive.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Department Violent Crimes Unit are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
