Baltimore County Fire units responded Sunday morning to a two-alarm incident at the Towson Town Center mall involving a motor vehicle crash into a building and a gas line break.

At 11:35 a.m., a vehicle ran into a building under construction in the unit block of E. Joppa Rd., immediately adjacent to Macy's. (The mall is located in the 800 block of Dulaney Valley Rd.) The vehicle struck a high-pressure natural gas line, causing a significant gas leak.

Emergency personnel blocked off a section of York Road. A parking garage was closed temporarily, and access to the mall from the garage was temporarily restricted.

BGE responded and turned off the gas at about 1 p.m.

One person -- a woman who was driving the vehicle that crashed -- was transported to Sinai Hospital with serious injuries. The crash is under investigation by Baltimore County Police.
