Ford Rowell (79) of the unit block of Weyburn Court in Rosedale was killed Monday night when he was struck by a vehicle as he was crossing North Dundalk Avenue in Dundalk.

Baltimore County Police Crash Team investigators have preliminarily determined that Mr. Rowell was crossing North Dundalk Avenue near Center Place around 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday night, May 14, when he was struck by a 2014 GMC Sierra traveling southbound on North Dundalk Avenue. He was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center where he later died.

The Baltimore County Crash Team continues to investigate this incident.

Just before 9 p.m. on May 14, Baltimore County Police responded near the intersection of North Dundalk Avenue and Center Place, 21222 for a crash. It was determined that a 79-year-old man was attempting to cross the southbound lanes of North Dundalk Avenue when he was struck by a 2014 GMC Sierra pickup truck. The truck was traveling southbound on North Dundalk Avenue. The driver of the truck remained at the scene.

The man was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased at 9:36 p.m. The man has been identified as Ford Rowell, 79, of the unit-block of Weyburn Court, 21237. The crash is under investigation at this time. 

A man struck by a truck on Dundalk Avenue on February 15 has died as a result of the injuries sustained during the crash.

Charles George Swigert (70) of the 6700 block of Holabird Avenue, 21218 was crossing Dundalk Avenue approximately 100 feet south of the intersection at Center Place when he was struck by the side mirror of a Dodge Ram. He was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center where he died yesterday just before 11 a.m.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team continues to investigate this incident but do not believe that impairment by either party was a factor in this crash.
