UPDATE (January 18, 2019 12:11 p.m.):

The officer involved in a crash that killed a pedestrian on a skateboard early yesterday morning is identified as Officer D. Roussey, permanently assigned to the Woodlawn Precinct. Officer Roussey has been a member of the Baltimore County Police Department for four years and remains on active duty during the continuation of the crash investigation.

UPDATE (January 18, 2019 10:02 a.m.):

The pedestrian involved in yesterday morning's collision with a police patrol vehicle has died. He is identified as Brandon Michael Williams (31) of the 2600 block of West Park Drive, 21207.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team continues to investigate this incident.

Original Release (January 17, 2019 9:39 a.m.):

Police are investigating a pedestrian-involved crash involving a Woodlawn Precinct patrol officer this morning.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the officer was enroute to a call for service, traveling southbound on Whitehead Road near Whitestone Road around 3:50 a.m., when the officer struck the pedestrian, a 31-year-old-man who was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of Whitehead Road on a skateboard. The pedestrian suffered life-threatening wounds and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The officer was not injured.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team is investigating to determine all factors involved in this crash.
