Police have identified the bicyclist killed in a crash on Peninsula Expressway last Monday morning as John Roger Koop, Jr., 64 years old, of the 7500 block of Westfield Road, 21222.

This crash remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Crash Team.

Police are investigating what factors led to the crash that killed a bicyclist on Peninsula Expressway early this morning.

Officers were called to the scene near Bethlehem Boulevard at 4:39 a.m. after the driver of  2018 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling northbound on Peninsula Expressway and struck the bicycle from behind, which was also traveling northbound on Peninsula Expressway. The bicyclist, an adult man, was transported to an area hospital where he later died.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this fatal crash. The identity of the decedent is withheld pending next of kin notifications.

Police are continuing their investigation into a fatal motorcycle crash on Bethlehem Boulevard yesterday afternoon.

Just after 4 p.m. a 2016 BMW motorcycle traveling eastbound on Bethlehem Boulevard near North Point Boulevard crossed into the oncoming traffic lane while navigating a curve in the roadway. The motorcycle struck the driver-side rear corner of a Chevrolet Silverado traveling westbound, then struck the front of a Ford F350 truck that was also traveling westbound behind the Silverado.

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics, identified as Paul Taylor Craven (69) of the 9000 block of Millers Island Boulevard, 21219.   

The Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team is working to determine all the factors involved in this fatal crash. Both the Chevrolet and the Ford remained at the scene.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team is investigating after a woman was discovered dead in her vehicle after colliding with a construction trailer off of Bethlehem Boulevard near I-695 in Sparrows Point Saturday morning.

Crash Investigators have determined that the vehicle, a Jeep Patriot, was exiting I-695 onto Bethlehem Boulevard but continued across Bethlehem Boulevard and came to a stop after colliding with a the construction trailer in a construction area in the 6300 block of Cold Mill Road. A witness reported seeing the vehicle there around 7 a.m. but thought it was a construction worker's vehicle. The woman was discovered deceased in the driver's seat shortly after 10 a.m. and reported to police.

The driver is identified as Maria Cloelia Eder (74) of the 500 block of Queen Anne Avenue, 21113. Her body has been sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy to determine cause of death.
