UPDATE (August 4, 2017 10:37 a.m.):

The 14-year-old child tragically killed when a tree fell onto the car she was traveling in during last night's storm in Lutherville-Timonium has been identified as Ahjee S. Lawrence of the unit block of Hogarth Circle in Cockeysville. She was an 8th grade student at Cockeysville Middle School.

Original Release (August 3, 2017 8:54 p.m.):

Shortly after 5:30 p.m. on August 3, 2017, Baltimore County Police and Fire Departments received calls for a fatal car crash on Pot Spring Road at Deer Fox Lane, 21093. Responding personnel saw that a tree had fallen on top of a Hyundai Sonata, traveling southbound on Pot Spring Road, with four people inside the car. Due to the extensive damage to the car, Lutherville Volunteer Fire Co., Squad 303 used a crane to remove the tree from a top the car. A landscaper also assisted the Fire Department in removing the tree.

A 14 year-old girl seated in the rear of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two passengers, a 6 year-old girl and a 13 year-old girl were injured and transported to the Johns Hopkins Children Center by Cockeysville Volunteer Fire Co., Medic 395, with non-life threatening injuries. The driver, who is the mother of the deceased child, was transported to a local hospital, also with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are continuing their investigation into this crash and will release additional details as they become available.
