UPDATE (February 21, 2020 11:45 a.m.):

One year later police are still searching for the killer of Artis Holt, shot and killed in a parking lot in the 8000 block of Liberty Road.

Artis was following behind friends across the parking lot toward a take-out restaurant when the gunman ran to Artis, shot him, then fled across the parking lot. Police have released surveillance video of the suspect which can be viewed in a segment of our On The Beat cable program.

The reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect in this case has been raised to $5000, eligible to those who submit tips through Metro Crime Stoppers. Tipsters may remain anonymous and can submit their tip on the Metro Crime Stoppers website page for Artis Holt

Police Flagged Down Following Deadly Shooting in Windsor Mill

A shooting in the 8000 block of Liberty Road last night left one man dead in a parking lot.

An officer was flagged down by a subject who directed him to the victim lying down in the parking lot of a carryout food business. The victim appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit determined that just minutes before the officer drove into the area the victim was shot by the suspect after leaving the carryout restaurant around 11:56 p.m. The suspect fled prior to the officer's arrival.

The victim is identified as Artis Dewayne Holt (27) of the 1400 block of Clairidge Road, 21207.

Baltimore County Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a shooting in Windsor Mill early this morning.

Witnesses described an unknown hooded subject who approached a crowd of people on the parking lot in front of The Greek Village sub shop in the Milford Mill Shopping Center, 8059 Liberty Road, 21244 around 2 a.m. and began firing shots at the crowd. No one in the crowd was struck, but another adult male patron was unintentionally struck in the lower portion of his body. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to survive his injuries. Detectives are still investigating to determine the circumstances and motive leading up to this shooting.

Anyone with information on this shooting or suspect is asked to contact police at 410-307-2020. The Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit is investigating this incident.
