Baltimore County Police are investigating several thefts from autos in Essex on Sunday.

Sometime between approximately 4:15 a.m. to 6:22 a.m. on May 10, eight parked cars in the unit block of Urbanwood Court, 21221, the 800 block of Dorsey Avenue, 21221 and the 400 block of Virginia Avenue, 21221 were broken into. The investigation determined that several suspects walked through the neighborhoods, targeting unlocked vehicles parked in residential driveways and on the street.  

As a reminder, please always lock your car doors and remove any visible and valuable items. Thefts from autos are crimes of opportunity that you can prevent. Additional crime prevention tips are available online.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the thefts. If anyone has residential security video or information that may lead to identifying the suspect responsible, please call the Essex Precinct at 410-887-0220 or dial 911. Callers may remain anonymous.

UPDATE (November 6, 2017 3:03 p.m.):

A second passenger of the adult daycare bus involved in a head-on collison on Dulaney Valley Road in Lutherville-Timonium on October 26 has died.

Ailian Peng (79) of the 400 block of Virginia Avenue died on November 4 at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will be conducting an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

Eleven people were injured when the collision between the bus and a Hyundai Elantra occurred just after 9 a.m. on Dulaney Valley Road. The Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team continues to investigate this crash to determine causation and fault.

Original Release (October 26, 2017 3:38 p.m.):

A two-vehicle crash on Dulaney Valley Road at Ridgely Road this morning killed one person, injured 10 others.

Numerous Police and Fire/EMS units, including eight medic units, responded to the scene after an adult daycare bus and a Hyundai Elantra traveling in opposite directions on Dulaney Valley Road collided head-on around 9:12 a.m.

The bus carried nine passengers who were on their way to an adult daycare center when the crash occurred.

One passenger, who was transported by BCoFD to a local hospital with serious injuries, has died. She is identified as Guixian Shen (88) of the 400 block of Virginia Avenue in Towson. Eight other passengers, the bus driver and the driver of the Elantra were transported to local hospitals with a variety of minor injuries.

Crash investigators continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
