Man Charged with Fatal Shooting of Pregnant Wife

Baltimore County Police have charged Eric Maurice Glass, 30, of the 2500-block of Wentworth Road, 21234 for the shooting of his pregnant wife. Just before 10 p.m. on May 1, 2018, police responded to the 2500-block of Wentworth Road for a disturbance. After the initial response and investigation, detectives were able to determine that Glass shot his 30-year-old wife, Jasmine Alisha Kennedy. After shooting his wife, Glass shot himself in the head. The suspect then punched the victim’s 14-year-old son. The children inside the house where able to leave the house and go to a neighbor’s home for help. The suspect then came to the neighbor’s house, and forced his way inside the residence and assaulted the occupants inside. Once outside again, the suspect was detained by another neighbor until police arrived and took Glass into custody.

Jasmine Kennedy was transported to a local hospital when medical personnel determined that she was pregnant. Physicians were able to remove the child from the victim. Mrs. Kennedy was in critical condition and placed on life support. On May 2, 2018 at 5:38 p.m., Jasmine Kennedy was removed from life support and pronounced deceased.

The newborn child was last listed in critical but stable condition. Eric Glass has been charged with first-degree assault, attempted first-degree murder, second-degree child abuse, third-degree burglary, and second-degree assault. He is currently being held on a denied bail status. The Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office will upgrade Glass’ charges at a later date.

Baltimore County Police are investigating a shooting in the Parkville area tonight.

Police responded to a shooting at just after 9 p.m. in the 2500 block of Wentworth Avenue in Parkville. When they arrived, they discovered a single victim who was found to be suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was immediately transported by medics to a local hospital and the victim’s condition is unknown at this time. 

A suspect was immediately placed into police custody at the scene. The suspect and the victim are known to each other and it is believed that the victim was targeted. A neighboring resident was also assaulted during the course of this incident.

Detectives of the Baltimore County Police Criminal Investigations Bureau will be continuing their investigation throughout the night.
