On July 3 just after 7 p.m. Baltimore County Police responded to the unit block of Flaxton Court, 21244 for a call of an injured child suffering from a possible gunshot wound. The victim, an 11-year-old girl, advised that while walking home, she was struck in the head by a projectile. Her mother called 911. The victim was transported to a local hospital and she is expected to make a full recovery.

Baltimore County Police Department's Violent Crimes Detectives are continuing the investigation into this incident. Anyone who may have additional information is asked to contact Baltimore County by calling 410-307-2020. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward when submitting tips through Metro Crime Stoppers.

Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland, an organization that is separate from the Baltimore County Police Department and Baltimore County Government, offers rewards of up to $2000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges in connection with felony offenses.

The passenger in a single-vehicle crash on June 14 died yesterday.

Both the driver and the passenger, identified as Cecelia Geniese Barbour (47) of the 8200 block of Church Lane, 21244 were transported to an area hospital with injuries at the time of the crash.

Barbour was the passenger in a 2013 Honda Accord traveling eastbound on Security Boulevard near Interstate 695 when the driver of the vehicle drove over a curb and struck a concrete pillar just after 9 p.m. on June 14.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team is continuing their work to determine all of the factors involved in this fatal crash.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit are investigating a shooting in Windsor Mill early this morning.

Officers responded to the 2900 block of Lord Baltimore Drive, 21244 at 12:37 a.m. for a call of a woman lying in the street with a gunshot wound. She was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting and ask anyone who may have information to contact police by calling 410-307-2020. Callers may remain anonymous.
