Baltimore County Police are investigating a double shooting in the Wilkens Precinct tonight.

Officers responded to the unit block of Babybird Court at 5:23 p.m. for a shooting call and discovered two victims suffering from gunshot wounds, an adult man and a 14-year-old boy. Both were transported to an area hospital for treatment and are expected to survive their wounds. The suspect(s) fled the scene immediately following the shooting.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding this shooting. Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives by calling 410-307-2020. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward when submitting tips through Metro Crime Stoppers.

Officers arrested a carjacking suspect when he crashed into a Baltimore County Police patrol car minutes after stealing the vehicle yesterday afternoon.

Police were initially dispatched to the 9200 block of Oswald Way, 21237 at 4:12 p.m. when the suspect ordered the victim out of his Chevrolet Equinox, then drove it away toward Philadelphia Road. The victim had just sat down in the driver seat when the suspect got into the vehicle through the rear passenger door and ordered the victim out. The victim was not injured in this incident.

Minutes later, at approximately 4:18 p.m., the suspect lost control of the Equinox as he turned onto Martin Boulevard from Transverse Avenue in Middle River. He struck the rear right area of an Essex Precinct marked patrol car stopped at the intersection, pushing the patrol unit into a Nissan Frontier.

The suspect was taken into custody at the scene and transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The officer was also transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. No one in the Nissan was injured.

The identity of the suspect, a 37-year-old man, is withheld pending formal charges.

UPDATE (September 4, 2020 4:19 p.m.):

Travis William Robinson (39) of the 1600 block of Kirkwood Road, 21207 and Rakeem Diontary Watson (29) of the 4100 block of Woodhaven Avenue, 21216 were arrested in connection with the August 12 shooting of two men in the 5200 block of Baltimore National Pike, 21229.

The preliminary investigation revealed that just before 8 p.m., the suspects and victims were engaged in an argument in the Charing Cross Shopping Center that led to the suspects shooting the victims in the upper and lower body. The victims were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. The suspects fled prior to police arriving. One victim has since been released from the hospital.

Robinson and Watson are both charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder, two counts of first degree assault and firearm use/felony violent crime. Robinson was initially held on a no bail status at the Baltimore County Detention Center but has since been released on his own recognizance after a bail review hearing. Watson is held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on a no bail status pending a bail review hearing.

Police Investigate Two Men Shot on Baltimore National Pike Tonight

Baltimore County Police are investigating a shooting on Baltimore National Pike. 

Just before 8 p.m. on August 12, police responded to the 5200 block of Baltimore National Pike, 21229 for a call of an assault with injury. Responding officers found two adult males who were shot outside of  the location. One victim was shot in the upper body and the other victim was shot in the lower body. The suspect fled prior to police arrival. The victims were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit are continuing to investigate this incident and ask anyone who may have additional information to call 410-307-2020.
