Suspect from MTA bus incident in Lutherville yesterday has been charged

Baltimore County Police have charged Kevin Thompson Jr, 38, from the 100 block of Northwood Dr 21093 with firearm possession with a felony conviction, loaded handgun on person and several other weapons violations.  He is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on a no bail status.

On August 14, at 1000, an MTA bus driver pulled into the bus loop at the end of West Ridgely Road.  The driver walked through the bus to make sure it was empty since it was the end of the line.  Suspect Thompson was lying down on the seats asleep when the driver noticed the handle of a firearm in his waistband. At that moment suspect Thompson woke up and yelled that he was going to kill her then he went back to sleep.  The driver left the bus and called 911.

Baltimore County Tactical unit responded and were able to take suspect Thompson into custody.  The gun was recovered hidden under the seat. There were no other passengers on the bus.
