UPDATE (July 18, 2019 4:18 p.m.):

Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit detectives have arrested a suspect in the homicide of a man at the Comfort Inn on Loch Raven Boulevard early this morning.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim, identified as Jeremiah David Koch (30) from Lenhartsville, Pennsylvania, was summoned to a room at the Comfort Inn by a third man to help calm the suspect, who was in an agitated state. The suspect, who is not yet being identified pending formal charges, produced a handgun. The third man ran from the room, calling 9-1-1 and reporting hearing shots fired.

When officers arrived they found the victim deceased in the room, suffering from trauma to the upper body, presumably a gunshot wound. Detectives are still awaiting results of an autopsy performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to confirm the cause and manner of death.

The suspect initially fled the scene but was later located in the area and taken into custody. The identity of the suspect will be released tomorrow following formal charging.
