A 57-year-old Owings Mills landscape contractor died yesterday in Reisterstown when a spark ignited gasoline vapors in a trailer operated by the victim's business.

Baltimore County Police have identified the victim as  George Louis Kelley, of the unit block of Montrose Ave., 21117. He was deceased at the scene.

Baltimore County Fire Department crews responded to the 300 block of Bonnie Meadow Circle, 21136, at 10:12 a.m. where they found a 23-foot vehicle trailer fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters used foam to bring this intense fire under control.

BCoPD fire investigators found that the landscape company, GK Enterprises, was cutting grass yesterday in the Bonnie Meadow Circle community.  Witnesses saw Kelley go into the trailer just before it erupted in flames and said he did not come out. Firefighters found the victim after the flames were extinguished.

The investigation shows that a 100-gallon gasoline tank, used to supply lawn equipment, had been installed at the front passenger side of the 23-foot trailer. The victim was trying to connect the fuel tank pump to a lawnmower battery in order to energize the pump when a spark ignited the vapors and caused a spontaneous eruption of flames.
