Police are actively investigating a shooting in Dundalk tonight.

Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Avondale Road around 6:40 p.m. when a 23-year-old man suffered at least one gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital but is expected to survive his wounds.

Officers are now actively searching the area for suspects and witnesses to this crime, attempting to sort out the circumstances leading up to this shooting. Expect significant police activity in the area over the next couple of hours.
