Baltimore County Police are investigating a shooting that happened around 10:30 p.m. last night when a security guard at 15 De Septembre Bar and Lounge, 3911 Hollins Ferry Road, was threatened, then nearly run over by a party-goer.

The suspect, a 25-year-old man, became angry after being denied entry into a party and began threatening the other party-goers, then engaged in a physical altercation with security guards when he was escorted away from the property. He got into his vehicle and drove at a high rate of speed toward a uniformed security guard, who attempted to move out of the way while simultaneously retrieving his firearm, firing a single shot into the vehicle as he was struck in the lower body by the suspect's truck. The suspect fled the location and was stopped by Maryland Transportation Authority Police a short distance away.

The suspect was transported to an area hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the lower body but is expected to survive his wound. The security guard, who is not a police officer but does possess a permit to carry a weapon, suffered minor injuries.

The Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident. At the conclusion of the investigation the case will be reviewed by the Office of the Assistant State's Attorney for Baltimore County for determination of charges.
