Around 8 p.m. July 11, 2018, Johnnie Russell Gobeli, 94, of the 8400-block of Kings Ridge Road, 21234 was reported missing to the Baltimore County Police when his son found his father's vehicle parked and running in the single-car garage of his home, with groceries still inside the vehicle. An extensive search of the home and surrounding area was conducted that evening, but officers were unable to locate the missing man. The following morning detectives from the Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit responded to the missing man's home to investigate further, where they discovered the body of Gobeli concealed nearly completely under his car inside the small garage. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Their investigation has lead detectives to believe this incident is an accidental death and that Gobeli may have become wedged underneath the vehicle and unable to get out after sliding under it to check on a mechanical issue. His body has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

Just after 10:00 p.m. on July 11, 2018, Baltimore County Police responded to a pedestrian-involved crash on Security Boulevard and Lord Baltimore Drive, 21244. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased at 10:40 p.m. Police determined that a car was traveling westbound on Security Boulevard and struck the pedestrian as she was attempting the cross the road. Another collision occurred when the pedestrian was thrown into the direction of a 2005 Acura MDX which was also traveling westbound on Security Boulevard.

The driver of the first car did not remain at the scene of the collision. The driver of the second vehicle did remain at the scene.

The pedestrian has been identified as Mariam Idowu Adeleke, 24, of the unit-block of Brubar Court, 21207. The car that fled the scene is only described as a dark colored sedan. If anyone has information about this fatal crash, please call 911.
