The good Samaritan who dropped the cat off at Westview Animal Hospital has been located and advised of the dangerous condition of the cat. Thank you to all who put forth the effort to help us locate him and warn him of the diseased cat.

Original Release (October 27, 2018 4:46 p.m.): 

Baltimore County Police are asking for help contacting the good Samaritan who recently dropped off a stray cat at Westview Animal Hospital on Johnnycake Road in Gwynn Oak after the Department of Health and Human Services determined the cat has rabies.

picture of rabid catThe man who dropped off the cat is described as light skinned, 35 to 40 years of age with curly brown hair and wearing a red shirt. He brought the cat in around 8 a.m. Thursday and was driving a light colored SUV, possibly with an unknown War of 1812 tag.

The health department is asking the man, or anyone who may have been exposed to the cat between Oct. 11 and 25, to call 410-832-7182 over  the weekend and after 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. The number to call during regular business hours is 410-887-5963.
