Baltimore County Police and Fire News

On September 4, 2017, John G. Martin, 58, of the 2400-block of Rochelle Drive, 21047 was reported missing after he failed to return home. Police were told that Martin was believed to be in the area of his boat at the Baltimore Yacht Club, in the 800-block of Baltimore Yacht Club Road, 21221. Baltimore County Police, with assistance from the Maryland Natural Resources Police and the United States Coast Guard, searched for Mr. Martin throughout the following day.

At 7:30 a.m. on September 6, 2017, police received a call for a body found in the water in the 600-block of Rockaway Beach Avenue, 21221. The Maryland Natural Resources Police recovered the body from the water and Baltimore County Fire Department personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene. Police positively identified the deceased as John Martin. Police will continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to Martin being found in the water.

Fire Chief  Kyrle W. Preis III has announced the promotion of three members to the rank of Fire Captain.

The newly promoted members are:

  • Fire Lt. Vernon S. Adamson
  • Fire Lt. Erik R. Reinhardt
  • Fire Lt. Eric J. Stacharowski

The promotions become effective September 16, 2017.
