UPDATE (November 21, 2017 8:29 a.m.):

Police have identified the suspect in the Hunt Valley shooting as 52-year-old Richard Lewis Motes, Jr. of the 3500 block of Frankford Avenue, 21214. He is charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder, 1st Degree Assault, and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony/Violent Crime. He is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center pending a bail review hearing today.


Original Release (November 20, 2017 12:26 p.m.):

Police have a suspect in custody following the shooting of a man in Hunt Valley Saturday night.

Officers responded to a parking lot on the corner of Shawan Road and McCormick Road around 11:11 p.m. Saturday night for a call of a shooting. The shooting occurred when two men, known to each other and having had a previous dispute, encountered one another on the parking lot. When the victim turned and attempted to walk away, the suspect, who has not yet been identified, shot the victim once in the upper body, then fled the scene.

The victim, a 42 year old man, is listed in good condition at an area hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.
