Original release (April 19, 2016  7:46 p.m.):

Just before 5 p.m. this afternoon, Baltimore County Police and Fire personnel responded to the 100 block of Ventnor Terrace in Dundalk for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian.

The preliminary investigation into the crash has indicated that a 7-year-old boy was crossing Ventnor Terrace when he was struck by a vehicle that remained at the scene.

The boy sustained serious injuries and was flown to Johns Hopkins Pediatrics by Maryland State Police Medivac helicopter. His current condition is unknown.

This crash is under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Crash Team. The investigation is expected to take several weeks.

Original release (April 19, 2016  10:58 a.m.):

Baltimore County Police are investigating a fatal crash this morning in Arbutus.

Just before 6:30 a.m. this morning, Baltimore County Police and Fire personnel responded to the 5100 block of Westland Boulevard 21227 for a serious crash. When personnel arrived on the scene, they found that there were two vehicles involved and both drivers were injured.

The preliminary investigation into the crash has indicated that a Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling east-bound in the 5100 block of Westland Boulevard. A Ram van was traveling west-bound in the same block. The Chevrolet Cobalt entered the west-bound side of Westland Boulevard and struck the Ram van head on. The Ram van then struck a vehicle that was parked and unoccupied.

The driver of the Chevrolet Cobalt, 24-year-old Jessica Lauren Bowen of the 4700 block of Amberly Avenue 21229, was transported to Saint Agnes hospital where she was declared deceased. The driver of the Ram van was transported to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. His current condition is unknown.

The crash is under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Crash Team. That investigation is expected to take several weeks.
