Original release (February 13, 2016  7:35 p.m.):

Baltimore County Police are investigating a crash in Precinct 2 (Woodlawn) that lead to the death of one man on Friday afternoon.
 
At 4:34 p.m. the Baltimore County Crash Team responded to Craigmont Road just prior to Ingleside Avenue for a report of a crash with a pedestrian struck.
 
The preliminary investigation into this crash has indicated that the pedestrian, identified as 64-year-old Zulfiquar Ali of the 1000 block of Hartmont Road in Catonsville, 21228, was standing on the sidewalk awaiting a ride.  When his ride arrived, traveling from the opposite direction, and stopped on the opposite side of the road, Mr. Ali attempted to cross Craigmont Road. 

Immediately upon stepping into the roadway he was struck by the passenger side mirror of a truck traveling on Craigmont Road towards Ingleside Avenue.  Mr. Ali was thrown backward and then struck the sidewalk.  He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
 
The driver of the truck remained at the scene.
 
The Baltimore County Crash Team continues to investigate this incident.

Original release (February 13, 2016  2:46 p.m.):

Baltimore County Police are investigating a crash on Liberty Road Saturday morning that left one man dead.
 
At 5:36 a.m. police responded to Liberty Road and Old Court Road for a report of a serious crash.
 
The preliminary investigation into this crash has indicated a blue Toyota Avalon was traveling eastbound on Liberty Road when it crossed the center turn lane, crossed over the westbound traffic lane and jumped the curb.  The vehicle then traveled up an embankment, striking several objects, before finally coming to rest.  No other vehicles were involved in this crash.
 
The driver of the Toyota, 50-year-old Emerson Benjamin Bailey of the 9000 block of Meadow Heights Road in Randallstown, 21133, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
 
This incident remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Crash Team.
