Original release (November 8, 2016  3:11 p.m.):

Two men are being treated for multiple gunshot wounds after an altercation escalates to gunfire in Essex this morning. 
 
Baltimore County Police responded to an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Browning Drive after receiving a call for a shooting. 
 
Following a verbal altercation in the hallway between apartments, shots rang out, leaving two adult male victims seriously injured. 
 
One man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body while the second man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to both the upper and lower body.  Both are in serious condition and being treated at an area hospital. 
 
The suspect(s), who are believed to have targeted the victims, fled the scene prior to the arrival of police. 
 
The Baltimore County Violent Crimes Unit is currently investigating this incident.
