UPDATE (January 18  11:57 p.m.):

Detectives have not been able to conduct a thorough interview with the victim to find out exactly what happened yet.

The incident remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit. Detectives will be working to determine if this was a targeted crime.

Original release (January 16, 2016  9:09 p.m.):

Baltimore County Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred late this afternoon in the parking lot of Security Square Mall in the 6900 block of Security Boulevard 21244.

Police and fire department personnel were called to the location at 5:17 p.m., when the adult male victim ran inside of the mall to seek help. The man suffered from numerous stab wounds to the upper body. He was taken to a local hospital where he continues to receive treatment. Police have been unable to speak with the victim, therefore cannot determine what lead up to the assault.
