UPDATE (January 12, 2016  9:06 a.m.):

Baltimore County Police have charged a suspect in connection with the assault of an 87-year-old man in Cockeysville on December 14.

Walter Ellwood Feldheim IV (32) of the Unit block of Cliffwood Road 21206 has been charged with first-degree assault and related charges.

The investigation has indicated that Feldheim went to the Cockeysville home of an 87-year-old man on December 14 at approximately 7 a.m. He told the man that there was something wrong with his well and it needed to be checked. When the man went to close the door, Feldheim grabbed his arm, pulled him to the ground, got on top of him, and started to put his arm around his neck.

Feldheim ran away after being bitten by the 87-year-old man and punched in the head by the man’s wife.

Fedlheim is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $500,000 bail.

The Baltimore County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for the assault of an 87-year-old man in front of his Cockeysville home.

The investigation into the incident has indicated that on December 14 at approximately 7 a.m., the suspect came to the front door of the man’s home in the 12700 block of Falls Road 21030. The suspect told the man that there was something wrong with his well and it needed to be checked. When the man told the suspect that there was nothing wrong with his well, the suspect reached into the home, grabbed the man’s hand and pulled him to the ground. The suspect then got onto his back and tried to put his arm around the man’s neck, but the man bit his hand. His 60-year-old wife then came outside and punched the suspect in the head.

The suspect got up and fled the scene. The victim only sustained minor injuries and was not transported to a hospital.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 20 to 30-years-old, 5’10”, 160 pounds, wearing a grey beany cap, black shirt, and black pants. He may be driving a light colored SUV.

Pictures of a man that investigators believe to be the suspect were captured on video surveillance at a Royal Farms Store on Philadelphia Road near Rossville Boulevard.

This incident is under investigation by the Franklin / Precinct 3 Investigative Services Team.
