Investigators have determined that the crash was caused by pedestrian error. The driver of the vehicle still faces hit and run charges.

Original release (June 10 8:42 a.m.):

The Baltimore County Police Department is seeking the publics’ assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for the May 6 hit and run crash on Eastern Avenue that left two people injured.

The initial investigation into the incident has indicated that just before 10 p.m., two female pedestrians were crossing Eastern Avenue from the median towards the north curb near the intersection with 54th St. As the pedestrians crossed, a westbound vehicle struck one of the pedestrians throwing her into the other pedestrian. This vehicle did not stop and left the scene, continuing west-bound on Eastern Avenue. The pedestrians were taken to an area hospital for treatment and are expected to survive.

Video surveillance from a local business captured the crash events. The vehicle involved is only described as a silver sedan. The suspect vehicle may possibly have impact damage on its hood and front end.

This incident is being investigated by the Baltimore County Police Department Crash Team.
