Arrest Made in Homicide on Shagbark Road

Photo of Deontaye Banks, arrested in homicide on Shagbark Road.Baltimore County Police have identified the suspect in a homicide that occurred in the 200 block of Shagbark Road, 21220 on August 19. Deontae Maurice Banks, 22, of the unit block of Cornbury Court, 21117 has been charged with first degree murder, first degree rape and armed robbery.

Homicide detectives determined that the suspect went to the house on Shagbark Road to meet with a female. Once inside the house, the suspect stole money and sexually assaulted the woman. Afterwards, Banks and the victim, Curtis Jerome McKisset, had an argument that resulted in Banks pulling out a handgun and shooting McKisset.

Deontae Banks is currently being held at the Baltimore County Department of Corrections on denied bail status.

Original Release (August 20, 2019):

Just before midnight on August 19, 2019, Baltimore County Police received a call for a shooting in the 200-block of Shagbark Road, 21220. Officers arrived and found the victim, a 44 year old male inside the house. The man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Police are withholding the victim’s identification until his next of kin have been notified of his death.
