UPDATE (August 28, 2020 1:46 p.m.):

Detectives have charged a suspect in the shooting death of Charles Green on Garden Ridge Road last week.

The investigation determined that the suspect engaged in a verbal altercation with Green inside an apartment where a number of people had gathered and agreed to step outside to finish the dispute. As the two stepped outside the suspect shot and killed Green.

The suspect is identified as Jaekwan Jacob Stephens (24) of the 1300 block of South Carey Street, 21230. He is charged with first degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony/violent crime. He is held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on no bail status pending a bail review hearing.

27 Year Old Man Killed in Catonsville Shooting Last Night

Baltimore County Police are investigating as shooting in Catonsville last night that left one man dead.

Just before 12:30 a.m. on August 18, police responded to the 200 block of Garden Ridge Road, 21228 for a call of a shooting. Responding officers found the victim, Charles Anthony Green Jr. (27) of the 3100 block of Cliftmont Avenue, 21213, in front of the location suffering gunshot wounds to his body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  

The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and suspects argued which led to the victim being shot. Three suspects were seen leaving the scene in a white vehicle. Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Department's Homicide Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding this murder.
