The following officers have been awarded Officer of the Month by their Commanding Officer:

January: Officer Rathmell #4328 who worked a post car only seven days in January but managed to make 49 traffic stops, take 14 reports, and clear 3 misdemeanor traffic violation cases. Officer Rathmell is a highly motivated and experienced officer who is always willing to go the extra mile for investigations or to simply help out a citizen in need. During a call for a suicidal subject, Officer Rathmell was able to establish a rapport with the subject and safely resolve the situation when no one else was able to do so.

February: Officer Cotton #3744 for his selfless policing, genuinely putting his concern for the public before his own safety. Officer Cotton responded to a call for a sick person in a vehicle around 4 p.m. He found the driver slumped over the steering wheel in a vehicle stopped in the exit lane of a shopping center. Officer Cotton saw that the vehicle was still in drive but the driver had his foot on the brake, so he opened the car door to check on the driver, who suddenly put his foot on the gas pedal. Officer Cotton realized the vehicle was about to drive straight into York Road during heavy traffic, which would endanger numerous peoples' lives, so he ran with the vehicle until he was able to reach inside and shift the gear lever into park. Officer Cotton ultimately arrested the driver for DUI, whose blood alcohol concentration proved to be four times the legal limit of 0.08 BrAC.

March: Officer Pitts #4947 for the outstanding year he had as a first-year school resource officer, teaching DARE to the 6th grade students, having "lunch bunch" sessions with students in his office, spending time after school at the PAL center, and just generally fostering great relationships with both the students and faculty alike at Cockeysville Middle School.

April: None awarded.

May: Officer Knudsen handled a disturbance call where a female was refusing to leave a location. She attempted to coax him into a physical confrontation unsuccessfully, but did succeed in being placed under arrest. During the arrest she assaulted Officer Knudsen, who kept his composure and remained professional, using a minimal amount of force to effect the arrest without injury to the suspect. Officer Knudsen has a reputation for providing excellent police service to the community, having established a strong rapport with the residents in the area he polices. He is respectful to everyone he comes in contact with and considered an asset to his command.

June:

July: Officer Kidwell #4431 for understanding the importance of old-fashioned police work - knowing your post and knowing the people on it. Following five connected commercial robberies detectives went department-wide seeking help identifying the suspect, providing a basic description but also included details about a facial scar and bushy eyebrows. Officer Kidwell recognized the description as someone he'd dealt with on several occasions, providing detectives from the Robbery Unit with a name and address. Further investigation confirmed that he was the suspect involved in all five robberies, and he was arrested after fleeing from a sixth robbery in the area.

Just after midnight, three suspects broke the front glass door to gain entry to Tobacco Etc and took tobacco products.
Around 7 a.m., suspect stole a bag from the victim and while leaving the scene hit the victim with a car. Suspect was located and arrested.
