There have been a number of thefts from unlocked automobiles throughout the County this summer. Locked vehicles are rarely targeted because for a would-be thief it's as easy as walking through a neighborhood or a parking lot and simply checking door handles - and that's exactly what they are doing.

Please, remember to keep your car doors locked. A vehicle parked in a driveway is not out of play for a potential thief looking for an easy steal. While you are sleeping it is easy for them to walk all over your property undetected. Be sure to take all valuables into the house overnight, including all that loose change in the cup holders. Any amount of coins left in sight is an invitation to a thief to look for more money inside your car.

And never, ever, leave spare car keys to that car or another vehicle inside your car. The majority of vehicles stolen in Baltimore County are being stolen with keys left accessible to the thief.

Be safe, not sorry. Lock your doors.

At 2:50 p.m., the victim and the known suspect were on a bicycle when the suspect became jealous of the conversations between the victim and other friends. When they got to the Phenix Salon Suite, the suspect brandished a handgun and pointed it at the victim and threatened him. The victim feared for his life as well as his family's lives.

At 2 p.m., three unknown suspects assaulted the victim to gain entry into the location. One suspect was arrested and two are still outstanding.

Between 4 a.m. and 3 p.m., an unknown suspect entered the victim's residence through the back door and stole two handguns and a shotgun.
